Where to put the dishwasher block?

In the door of every dishwasher is a compartment where you can put the dishwasher block or powder. The compartment is closed with a flap that you can either click open or slide out. If you use powder, you must first pull the door of the dishwasher all the way down, otherwise you run the risk of the powder spilling out.

Do you need more than one dishwasher block for extra dirty dishes?

No, most dishwashers also do not have enough room in the tray to hold several blocks at once. If you do have a dish that you want to clean extra or that needs a little more to get clean, you can always choose to add other products. For example, you can use an all-in-one dishwasher tablet with salt and rinse aid and top off the salt and rinse aid at the same time.

The opposite is true. If you have a small load, you can break a dishwasher cube in half and use only half. You will still have enough soap left over to get everything clean.

When does the door open?

The door opens after the pre-rinse. This process rinses the worst of the food from your dishes and once that is complete, your dishwasher will automatically add the dishwasher tablet to your dishes during the rinse cycle.

Dishwasher tablet does not dissolve

Sometimes a dishwasher tablet does not dissolve and this can have two possible causes. Firstly, the valve can not open properly because it is blocked. You have loaded your dishes in such a way that there is something in front of the door, preventing it from opening in time to release the block.

Another option is that the spray arms in your dishwasher are not working properly. This means the water can’t be distributed properly, which means the dishwasher tablet doesn’t have enough water to dissolve. Check that the spray arms are clean and not clogged with food debris. The upper spray arm may also be unable to rotate properly because it is being blocked by the dishes in the upper rack.
