Why won’t your dishwasher pump out?
If water is sitting in your machine without being pumped out, it could be due to the following causes:
Your dishwasher won’t pump out due to clogged filters
The first possible cause for why the dishwasher won’t pump out the water properly is that the filters are blocked. Remove the bottom rack from the dishwasher to view the clogged filter. When removing the filter from the dishwasher, always wear protective gloves. You can now safely remove the filter from the dishwasher and clean it with hot water. The filter consists of two components, the flat piece and the cylindrical filter. Do not use abrasive sponges or agents, they will damage the fragile filter.
The water will not pump out if the pump is faulty
If something is blocking the pump, such as food residue or a fork that has fallen between the racks, water will also stay. The pump is not working or not working fully, which means the water cannot be drained. The solution is very simple, you need to unblock the dishwasher pump. To access the pump, you may need to remove the right side panel, which is very easy to do by unscrewing the screws.
Simultaneously clean the drain hose as well by carefully loosening it and hanging it in a bucket. Then run the dishwashing program ‘pump’. Let the dirty water run into the bucket and the problem is solved.
Your dishwasher won’t pump because the sink is clogged
It may not be something you immediately think of, but a clogged drain could be the reason water is staying in your dishwasher. When your drain is clogged, there is nowhere in your kitchen for water to drain away, which is why water in the dishwasher also stays. The problem may be with the dishwasher drain hose, or it may be with the main drain under the sink. Finally, you should also be aware that your dishwasher will not drain if the control panel is stuck. If, for example, the on/off button is stuck, it will start a new program each time while the old one is still running.
