Research by the Consumers’ Association shows that clothes dryers last an average of 11 years. How long that is exactly depends of course on several factors. Like how often you turn on your dryer, how full you fill it and how you maintain it. In addition, the expected life of a dryer also varies by model and brand. For example, heat pump dryers generally last longer than condenser dryers and airflow dryers. A lifetime of 11 years is average, but then of course there are exceptions. Miele dryers, for example, last a lot longer than those of other A-brands. According to the Consumers’ Association survey, Miele dryers have an average lifespan of 16 years.
