Why use a pull switch for a washing machine

A pull switch is a switch that you operate with a cord. By pulling the cord, you easily flip the switch. By means of a red ramp, you can see whether it is on or off. The purpose of a pull switch is to prevent the group to which your washing machine is connected from becoming overloaded. Pull switches are not mandatory, but are generally recommended when the group value of the washing machine is not on a 30 milliAmpere earth fault, or the connection of the washing machine is in the bathroom. In this case, a pull switch is extra safe because the electrical connection is waterproof, and thus protected from the moisture in your bathroom.
