AEG washing machine features

AEG Prosense technology

Many AEG washing machines have AEG ProSense technology, a load sensor, which automatically adjusts the wash programme. This ensures that your clothes are not washed unnecessarily – using less water and energy, and ensuring that your clothes stay beautiful for longer. Almost all new AEG washing machines have ProSense.

AEG ProSteam technology

In addition, AEG also offers several models with AEG ProSteam. The ProSteam technology is a steam function that makes your laundry come out of the drum with less wrinkles. This makes ironing a breeze! AEG ProSteam is in all AEG washing machines from the 7000, 8000 and 9000 series.

AEG Autodose

Several AEG models offer automatic detergent dosing. Most people use too much or too little detergent during the wash cycle. Autodose automatically calculates how much laundry there is in the drum and how much detergent is needed to get it clean. The AEG L7FENQ96 and the AEG L7FENS96AD are currently the only models to feature Autodose.

AEG Ökomix technology

Ökomix gets your laundry cleaner. The Ökomix technology does this by mixing detergent and fabric softener evenly with the water first, before letting it come into contact with your laundry. Are you looking for an AEG washing machine with Ökomix technology?

AEG SoftWater technology

It uses salt to ‘soften’ the mains water, keeping your clothes soft for longer and preserving their colour. The AEG washing machine filters harmful minerals from the water with this feature. Only the AEG L9FENS96 washing machine currently has SoftWater technology.

Buying an AEG washing machine, what to look for?

Are you looking for an AEG washing machine? Good, because there are a ton of models to choose from. Washing machines have a lot of different specifications, and that’s because everyone needs something different. The brand may be important, but there are many other aspects that should be considered when buying a new washing machine. Wondering which points they are?

Type of washing machine

There are 2 types of AEG washing machines: a front loading machine and a top loading machine. AEG, like most brands, offers considerably more front loading models. They are also by far the most chosen. Front loading washing machines have the door at the front. This is handy if you want to put your tumble dryer on top, for example. Top loading washing machines have the door at the top. These models also tend to be slightly taller, which reduces the need to bend down to load or unload the drum.

Fill Weight

The fill weight is one of the most important features of a new washing machine. It indicates how much laundry will fit in the drum of the washing machine. How many kg of fill weight you need is mainly determined by the size of your household. If you’re with 1 or 2 people, 6 kg or 7 kg will do. Are there 3 or 4 people in your household? Then look for washing machines with 8kg fills. If you’re a family of 5 or more, we recommend that you look at 9kg or more. AEG has machines in every category, they even have machines with 10 kg.

Energy Rating

The energy rating, also known as the energy label, indicates how energy efficient a washing machine is. Energy-efficient washing machines have energy label A, B or C. These washing machines are often a bit more expensive to buy, but they are much better for the environment and keep your energy bill down. In the long run, you can save money by choosing an energy-efficient washing machine. Most AEG washing machines are rated class C, but there are also models that have a lower or higher energy rating.

RPM

The speed of a washing machine indicates how many rounds the drum makes per minute while it is spinning. The faster it spins, the drier your laundry will be from the washer. The majority of washing machines spin at up to 1400 rpm, which is considered a high speed. However, most AEG washing machines reach a maximum speed of 1600 rpm (rounds per minute). For the driest possible wash, choose a 1600 rpm machine. Higher rpm’s are great for drying laundry faster, but they also mean that your clothes won’t last as long. That’s why with AEG machines you always have the option to choose a lower spin speed per wash, for example 1200 rpm.

Centrifugation Noise Level

The noise level of a washing machine is an indication of how loud it is during a spin. 78 dB or more is considered ‘loud’ and 74 dB to 77 dB is considered ‘normal’. All AEG washing machines fall into these 2 categories. Would you like a quiet washing machine? Then look for models that produce 73 dB or less.
