All washing machines with automatic detergent dosing use liquid detergent. All you have to do is fill the reservoir to the brim and refill it when empty. After how many washes that is, depends on the size of the reservoir and the amount of detergent used per turn. On average, a full reservoir will last about 20 washes.
In some cases, you may also need to fill in what the hardness of your water is. You can buy a special test strip for this, or you can request the information from your local water company.
Some washing machines come with special bottles of detergent, but it is also possible to buy empty bottles and use the detergent of your own choice.
