What is a washing machine cabinet?

A washing machine cabinet is a built-in cabinet where you can place your washing machine and/or dryer. This piece of furniture easily stores your appliances and gives you extra storage space, for example for your detergent, laundry bags and other items. No matter where you place your washer and dryer, there is always a closet that fits the space you have in mind. Kitchen, bathroom, attic or laundry room, there is an ideal washing machine cabinet for you. That’s because there are many different washing machine cabinets. Some cabinets place your washer and dryer above each other, others put your appliances next to each other. Some cabinets are built above the washing machine, while others are built underneath the appliance. These are made especially for people with back problems, so they don’t have to bend over.

A washing machine cabinet is generally open, so you can directly access your washer and dryer. But there are also washing machine cabinets with doors. This way, you won’t see anything back from your washing machine, which gives a very clean look.

What to look for when buying a washing machine cabinet?

A washing machine cabinet makes the room where you have your washer and dryer look just that little bit nicer. They also give you extra storage space and – if you want it – put your washing machine at a more comfortable height. But, then you need to buy a washing machine cabinet that fits your needs and your home. Check out our tips below to find out what to look for.

Cabinet Size

First and foremost, of course, is making sure your washing machine fits in the cabinet. The size of the cabinet should provide enough room for the size of your washer and/or dryer. So measure the height, width and depth of your appliances carefully beforehand. When you’ve done that, it’s also wise to measure the spot where you want to place the cabinet. These are often tall units, and you do not want your ceiling to get in the way.

Storage space

What kind of storage space do you need? Is it drawers, shelves or cabinets with doors? You can choose from all sorts of things. There are also washing machine cabinets where the washing machine itself sits behind a door.

Design

What is the ideal layout for your washing machine cabinet? Again, you have plenty of choice. First, ask yourself how high you want the appliances to go. On the floor is easy to place, but if you have back problems it might be nice if your washing machine is placed higher. Then you don’t have to bend over anymore. You can place them above each other or next to each other. Stacking them saves space, but putting them next to each other makes them both at the same (comfortable) working height.

Cabinets for washers and dryers stacked

If you like to save space in your home, a washer cabinet that lets you stack the washer and dryer is ideal for you! These large appliances can quickly take up a lot of space. A washing machine cabinet is an easy solution to this problem. Check out our selection of washing machine cabinets below that let you stack the washer and dryer.

Washing machine cabinets with door

If you prefer to keep your washing machine out of sight, a washing machine cabinet with door is a great solution. These are designed to look like a normal cabinet in your storage room, bathroom or kitchen. Below you can see our selection of washing machine cabinets with doors.
