Type of washing machine
With washing machines, you can choose between a front-loading and a top-loading model. Of these, the front loading washing machine is by far the most used. Front loading models have the door in the front so you have room on top of the washer for a dryer. The top loading models have the door on the top, which is nice if you have back problems. Zanussi washing machines are all front loading models. If you do want a top loading machine, you will have to look at other brands. Some brands that sell top loading models include Miele and AEG.
Fill Weight
The fill weight is one of the most important features of a washing machine. This is because it determines how many kg of laundry will fit in the drum. How much fill weight you need depends largely on the size of the household. If you’re with 1 or 2 people, choose a washing machine with a 6 or 7 kg load. If you have 3 or 4 people, we’d recommend 8kg. Are there 5 or more of you? Then look for a washing machine with 9 kg or more. Most Zanussi models are 8kg, but some are 7kg. A few models have a 9 kg or 10 kg load.
Energy Class
The energy class is also known as the energy label. This gives an indication of how energy efficient the washing machine is. Energy efficient washing machines have energy class A, B or C. These washing machines are often more expensive to buy, but because they use less electricity, you can actually save money with them. A Zanussi washing machine will usually be in energy class C or D. RPM
The engine speed of a washing machine tells you how many spins the drum spins per minute while it is spinning. The faster it spins, the higher the rpm, the drier your laundry will be from the washer. They also have models that make 1400 rpm. 1400 rpm is also considered a high speed. If you prefer to spin at a lower rpm, for example because it keeps your clothes looking nice longer, you can always choose a lower rpm, for example 1200 rpm. At 1200 rpm you can still air dry your laundry, but it is less likely to get damaged.
Spinning noise level
If you want a quiet washing machine, look for ‘spin noise level’. This gives an indication of how much noise the washing machine produces during the spin in decibels. Washing machines are divided into 4 categories: loud (78 dB or more), normal (74 dB to 77 dB), quiet (72 dB or 73 dB) and very quiet (71 dB or less). All Zanussi washing machines fall under the category ‘normal’ or ‘loud’.
