Built-in washer dryer combo
One of the biggest advantages of a combined washer and dryer is that you can wash and dry in one appliance, so you need less space. When a combined washer-dryer can be built-in as well, you make optimal use of the space. Here you will find everything you need to know about built-in washer-dryers.

What is a built-in washer dryer combo
A built-in washer dryer combo is perfect for any closet.
A built-in washer-dryer combo is a model that is specially made to be hidden in a room. You can think of your kitchen, your bathroom but also in a laundry room. The appliance is located behind a (sliding) door,
so he is hidden from view. This is not only very nice for the view, but it also saves a lot of space.

Best built-in washer dryer combo of 2022
If you are looking for a built-in washer dryer combo then you have much more limited choices and therefore it is good to think about what is the best choice for you. First of all, think carefully about the fill weight you need. Most built-in washer-dryers can wash 8kg of laundry and dry 4kg. For a 4 person household this is not always enough to get rid of all the laundry in one go.
In addition, built-in washer-dryers generally have a low energy efficiency rating. The energy label usually lies between C and E, which is relatively inefficient and can cause high energy bills. In some cases it is more economical to purchase two separate appliances. To make the choice easier for you, we have listed the best built-in washer-dryers for you here.

What to consider when choosing a built-in washer dryer combo
When you choose a built-in washer-dryer, you need to consider a number of different features than when you choose a normal model. We have listed the most important features for you here.
Spin Noise Level
Because built-in washer-dryers are often hidden away in places where you spend a lot of time, such as the kitchen or bathroom, it’s good to think about the noise level of the model.
A noise level spin below 70 db is perceived as extra quiet, allowing you to easily place the appliance in the kitchen without worrying about noise pollution.
For all wash-dry combinations, the spin noise level is indicated between 70 db and 77 db, with the latter being very loud and not suitable to be placed in a small space.
Filling weight
The fill weight of a washer-dryer combination is always a feature you should consider carefully. The build-in weight for washing is always higher than for drying.
Most built-in washerdryers can wash 7 kg of laundry and dry only 4 kg. So after every wash, you’re left with 3kg of laundry that you need to dry in a different way. You can then choose to switch on the washer-dryer again to dry only your remaining laundry or you can leave the rest to dry on a rack.
With a freestanding washer-dryer combination, the wash and dry fill weight will be much higher. Common combinations are 9 kg/6 kg and 8 kg/4 kg.
Less choice
A built-in washer-dryer combination must have certain dimensions and these differ from what is most commonly manufactured. So when you are looking for a built-in model, you can’t just choose from all the wash-dry combinations.
Chances are that you will have to make some concessions. For example, you may have to choose a lower fill weight, a lower energy efficiency class and not all the extra options you are looking for, such as delayed start or dualsense.
How to install a washer-dryer
There is no need to hire someone else to install your washer-dryer – you can easily do that yourself.
Measure
First of all you should check that the installation site has the same dimensions as your washing and drying machine. In some cases you will need to make the opening slightly bigger.
Connect
Then connect the washing and drying combination as described in the instructions for use. Do this when the appliance is outside the built-in unit and then slide the washing and drying combination into position. Make sure that the washing and drying combination is always positioned horizontally.
Install
A built-in washer-dryer is always supplied with hinges to which you can attach the door. Always follow the instructions supplied with the appliance. Make sure that the door is neatly aligned with the other cabinets. Finally, you also mount the magnet that ensures the door stays on the washer-dryer combination. Make sure that the magnet on the washer-dryer is at the same height as the one on the door, so you can be sure that the door will always stay closed.
Sound level
First turn on the washing machine function to test the noise level and then do the same with the drying function. If the noise is still too loud, you can always choose to better insulate the cabinet.
