How long is the warranty of a washing machine

The standard manufacturer’s warranty for new washing machines is two years. Second hand washing machines do not count towards this. If something goes wrong with the washing machine within the warranty period, a repair person may – depending on the nature of the problem – visit you to solve it. For this it is important that you still have the invoice and proof of purchase. In addition to the standard factory warranty, you can get extra guarantees on, for example, the water safety or the motor of the washing machine. Which guarantees you get exactly depends on your supplier. Find out about the different warranties for washing machines in advance and keep your invoice and proof of purchase.

How high may the drain of a washing machine be

The drain of your washing machine should not be placed higher than 1 meter from the ground. If the drain is placed much higher than the washing machine, the washing machine is less able to pump the water away. If the water runs back into the washing machine, it will stop the washing program. At the same time, you do not want the drain to be lower than 60 cm from the ground, because then there is a risk that the washing machine will empty too soon. In general, we therefore recommend that you place your washing machine drain around 80 to 85 cm from the ground – preferably somewhere between 60 cm and 1 meter.

Why use a pull switch for a washing machine

A pull switch is a switch that you operate with a cord. By pulling the cord, you easily flip the switch. By means of a red ramp, you can see whether it is on or off. The purpose of a pull switch is to prevent the group to which your washing machine is connected from becoming overloaded. Pull switches are not mandatory, but are generally recommended when the group value of the washing machine is not on a 30 milliAmpere earth fault, or the connection of the washing machine is in the bathroom. In this case, a pull switch is extra safe because the electrical connection is waterproof, and thus protected from the moisture in your bathroom.

How high is a washing machine

The standard height of a washing machine is 85 cm, the width is usually 60 cm. Here we are talking about a front-loading washing machine; a washing machine with the door at the front of the drum. Most washing machines are front loading models. For top loading washing machines, which have the door at the top, other standard dimensions apply. Top loaders are usually 90 cm high and 40 cm wide. This gives them a smaller fill weight, but they also take up a lot less space. The downside is that with a top loading washer, you can’t put the dryer on top of it – as you can with most front loaders.

Which vinegar should be used in a washing machine

Vinegar is a natural and non-harmful fabric softener and descaler that also helps you get rid of bad odors. This way, your laundry comes out of the drum clean, and odor-free. For this you can best use cleaning vinegar. You can also use natural vinegar, but cleaning vinegar is more powerful, so you need less of it. You cannot use vinegar as a substitute for detergent. Although it kills certain bacteria, vinegar unfortunately does not dissolve stains. What it does do, however, is ensure that the colors of your laundry are better preserved and do not bleed.

How heavy is a washing machine

Washing machines generally weigh between 60 and 85 pounds. Exactly how heavy a washing machine is depends, among other things, on its size, model and brand. The specifications of your washing machine will tell you exactly how heavy it is. Often washing machines with a smaller fill weight (6 kg or 7 kg) are a few kilos lighter than those with a larger fill weight (8 kg or more). The thing that makes a washing machine so heavy is the counterweight at the bottom of the washing machine. These are usually made of concrete blocks, and ensure that the washing machine stays in place during the spin cycle.

Until what time can you run a washing machine

There are no legal rules or guidelines about when you can turn on your washing machine. In fact, because electricity is often cheaper on weekends and nights, this is the time for many to do their laundry. However, in some cases, such as apartment complexes, using a washing machine can be a nuisance at night. During the spin cycle, a washing machine can produce quite a bit of noise. There are guidelines and rules about producing noise during the night, but very few washing machines – if they are positioned correctly and used properly – exceed this limit.
