How to build in your tumble drier?

We’ll explain it to you in detail. Note: depending on the brand of your new dryer, the procedure may vary. Always check the user guide for your new dryer before fitting.
- Start by removing the old dryer. Have a bucket and/or towel handy for any leaks when disconnecting the hose and water drain – if you use it for your clothes dryer.
- Take the old clothes dryer off its place.
- Mount the kitchen panel on the new clothes dryer.
- Place the new clothes dryer in the niche and connect it to the drain and power.
- Check that the appliance is working by turning on a program and checking to see if the moisture is being pumped out – or, in the case of a washer dryer with a reservoir, by checking and emptying the moisture tray.

Dryer type
You can choose between a heat pump dryer, a condenser dryer and a clothes dryer. The clothes dryer has become less available recently, mainly because they use a lot of energy. The extractor dryer is the only dryer that pumps the moist air directly outside, through a window or a hole in the wall. The heat pump dryer and the condenser dryer can be connected to the water drain or you can use a condensation tank. Of these, the heat pump dryer is the most economical.
Fill weight
The fill weight indicates how much laundry will fit in the drum. Ideally, you should choose a dryer with the same or more fill weight than your washing machine. Or: for 1 or 2 people, 6 or 7 kg. For 3 or 4 people, 8kg. For a household of 5 or more, 9 kg or more.
Energy rating
The energy rating of a dryer indicates its energy efficiency. Energy-efficient appliances are often more expensive to buy, but they are better for the environment and they keep your energy bills low.
