Bosch washing machine technology
Bosch SpeedPerfect
SpeedPerfect makes it possible to do extra fast wash cycles. Washing programs become 65% faster with the help of this technology, so that you can finish your laundry in no time. This can be very useful when your favorite clothes need to be washed and you are in a hurry. You can also use it if your laundry is not really dirty but just smells a bit musty. All new Bosch washing machines feature SpeedPerfect. Good to know; SpeedsPerfect only works with a half load in the drum.
Bosch AllergyPlus
If you suffer from skin irritation, due to animal hairs and pollen for example, a Bosch washing machine with AllergyPlus is a real lifesaver! This washing programme washes longer and at a high temperature so that all allergens disappear. And do you have a sensitivity to detergents? AllergyPlus rinses your laundry an extra time so that less detergent remains stuck to it. However, not all Bosch models have this feature, so be alert that the washing machine you buy actually has this if you suffer from allergies.
Bosch 4D Wash
The Bosch 4D Wash system ensures that the detergent is evenly distributed over your laundry, making it extra clean. Stains can be removed better this way. These washing machines do this by mixing the detergent and water beforehand. The washing machine sprays the foam with Direct Water Spray over your laundry, while the drum is running at a high speed.
Bosch I-Dos
Bosch I-Dos washing machines have automatic detergent dosing. This means that with an I-Dos washing machine you no longer have to think about the amount of detergent and fabric softener you need for a wash. The machine can calculate and add this itself. All you have to do is make sure your I-Dos machine always has enough detergent and fabric softener.
Bosch EcoSilence Drive
The Bosch models with an EcoSilence Drive motor have a brushless motor that, unlike washing machines with a brush motor, are much quieter, more economical and durable. Bosch also offers a 10-year warranty on washing machines with an EcoSilence Drive motor.
Buy a Bosch washing machine: what to look for
Bosch washing machines are known for their reliability and delivering quality. As an indication, that can be a good reason to buy a Bosch when you need a new washing machine. However, of course, the brand doesn’t say everything. Washing machines are complicated products with many features and specifications that you should not lose sight of. That’s why we would like to give you our tips for buying a new Bosch washing machine.
Type of washing machines
When it comes to washing machines, you have the choice between a front-loading machine and a top-loading machine. The front-loading machine is by far the most popular and is the most widely produced. Front-loading washing machines have the door at the front, so you can put your dryer on top, for example. Top loading washing machines have the door on top, which can be nice if your back hurts easily. At the moment Bosch only offers front loading washing machines. Would you still like a top loading machine? Then you will have to look at other brands.
Filling weight
The fill weight is one of the most important features of a washing machine. It determines how much laundry will fit in the drum – in other words, the capacity of the washing machine. How much fill weight you need depends largely on the size of the household. For an indication, we recommend that you look at the following overview:
- 1 or 2 persons: Filling weight 7 kg
- 3 or 4 people: Filling weight 8 kg
- 5 or more people: Filling weight 9 kg or more
Bosch washing machines have a washing capacity between 7 kg and 10 kg. Of 10 kg, however, they have only one model. Most Bosch washing machines have a 9 kg capacity.
Energy class
The energy class, also known as energy label, indicates how economical a washing machine is with electricity. An energy-efficient washing machine has energy class A, B or C, with energy class A being the most economical. Energy-efficient washing machines are often more expensive to buy, but because they keep your energy bills low, they can actually save you money in the long run. In addition, they are also a lot better for the environment! Bosch washing machines have energy class A, C or D. Energy label C is the most common, but there are also several models with energy class A.
RPM
The RPM indicates the spinning speed – in other words; how many rounds the drum of the washing machines spins per minute while spinning. The faster the drum spins, the drier your laundry will come out of the washing machine. For the driest laundry possible, choose a washing machine with up to 1600 rpm (rounds per minute). Bosch has some models that reach 1600 rpm during the spin cycle, but you have more choice in Bosch washing machines with 1400 rpm. 1400 rpm is also considered a high spin speed. At both 1400 rpm and 1600 rpm, you can hang your laundry up after washing to let it dry further.
Noise level
Spin noise level indicates how much noise the washing machine produces while spinning. Washing machines are divided into 4 categories: loud (78 dB or more), normal (74 dB to 77 dB), quiet (72 dB or 73 dB) and very quiet: (71 dB or less). Most Bosch washing machines are very quiet, but they also have models with noise level ‘quiet’ and ‘normal’, so be alert to this if you care about your washing machine making as little noise as possible
